Project Overview
The Metro Tunnel will create a new end-to-end rail line from Sunbury in the west to Cranbourne/Pakenham in the south east, with bigger and more modern trains, and 5 new stations. With testing now underway, the Metro Tunnel will open in 2025.
The CBD North Precinct for the State Library Station includes five number shafts located at Latrobe Street, Little Latrobe Street, A’Beckett Street and Franklin Street (East and West), four corresponding adits to Franklin Street, A’Beckett Street, Little Latrobe Street and Latrobe Street and the Central Trinocular Underground Cavern.
Our Role
Clifton Formwork (Vic) was contracted by the CYP to complete formwork and concrete placement works for in-situ concrete structures within the Franklin, A’Beckett and La Trobe Adits. Working underground for the ground slab, up in layers working from the external walls to internal wall, followed by the slabs.
CFV were working in tight areas, managing materials in and out of site, to use the limit space efficiently.
